It is very easy to summarize the rules of golf:
1. Play the ball as it lies.
2. Play the course as you find it.
3. The player is responsible for everything that happens.
The tough part is understanding how to apply those principles correctly in every situation, and knowing what to do when you are in a spot where you can’t do them.
If you go the library or bookstore, you will find dozens and dozens of books on golf techniques and strategies. It would be impossible to summarize them here.
To learn the history of golf, you can read a book. I know that sounds weird, but that’s why people write books. You can even do a web search for "golf history". You might actually learn something on your own.
