Looking for better consistency? Need to improve your accuracy? Desperately want some more yards? Or possibly you just want your swing to look a little better so your buddies won’t tease you anymore. These are all great reasons for doing some work on your swing, but what is the best way to go about it?There are so many factors of the golf swing that it can be intimidating just figuring out what to do first: grip, stance, alignment, takeaway, swing path, shoulder turn, wrist cock, tempo, timing, weight shift, etc. It’s impossible to work on everything at once unless you enjoy tangling yourself into a pretzel. Here are some tips on how to find where to start, and on how to use golf training aids to help you improve your swing.1. Learn! Get at least one book and one video about the golf swing and learn the basic concepts before you start tinkering. This can really save you some time and heartache. Learn about grip, stance, and alignment. Learn about swing path and clubface angle and how the two combine to affect the flight of the ball. There are lots of great golf videos and books out there written by guys who have spent their lives figuring out the best way(s) to swing, so take advantage!2. Get lessons from a PGA pro! At the very least, take three lessons to check your grip, stance, and alignment before you start working on your full swing. Swing work is worthless unless you start from the right position, and you can get good instruction about the alignment basics almost anywhere.3. Get some golf training aids! Golf training aids can really help you get results faster if you use them consistently. Here are some suggestions for golf training aids that will get you going quickly:a) Molded grip. These are invaluable for learning how to grip it before you rip it. Make sure you get a grip/club combination that allows you to actually hit balls, because this is the fastest way to get used to the new position.b) Swing Path. The club should approach the ball on a slightly inside out path for optimum distance. Get a swing path training aid to help with this. They can range from a foam barrier that physically prevents you from coming over the top, to a mat that sits on the ground as a visual aid.c) Swing plane. Swinging the club on plane for the entire swing can help with your consistency. A variety of training aids exists from laser pointers for a visual aid to a large hoop that forces you to stay on plane.d) Tempo. Get a golf metronome and use it during practice sessions. This will help you groove your swing rhythm and gain consistency.e) Release. Your wrists must release properly through impact to get good club head speed and clubface angle. Get a release training aid to help with this.f) Weight shift. You absolutely must shift your weight onto your right foot in your backswing and then back to your left foot as you swing through (for right handers). Many players have a problem with falling back as they swing through, which can cause a nasty slice and too high ball flight. Get a golf training aid that forces you to shift the weight onto your forward foot as you swing through the ball and you will gain distance and directional consistency. If you follow all these suggestions, you will see results quickly. Good luck and stay focused on your swing goals!

Why do you make this game so complicated? It doesn’t have to be that way at all. Golf can be broken down to some clear basics and if you just focus on those you just may find yourself wanting to play more often.

And isn’t that really what life is all about?

Think about this: In most sports you are playing your Strategy against someone else’s Strategy which means you are always working against a moving target. In golf, that is not the case.

Your competition is the golf course and nothing else. The other players are there but they are fighting the same battles you are and playing the same golf course. The common denominator is “the golf course”.

But, if you have done your homework correctly, you should know the course inside and out; every bounce; every side hill, up hill, downhill lie and those positions don’t change. Weather can affect getting there and affect the severity of the balls reaction to the ground when it lands but the physical layout of the course itself doesn’t change.

So it stands to reason to know the course inside and out?

Obviously the greens play differently if they are moist or dried out. But the green is still “x” yards wide and “x” yards deep. And the same holds true for the fairways.

Your concern as the golfer playing the course should be what club is going to get you there and what sort of spin or reactions can you expect from the ball once it lands.

Everything else should remain the same. If it is an uphill lie your shoulders will be level with the slope with your weight slightly more on your back foot. Your ball will tend to hook so adjust your aim accordingly and position the ball toward your front heel and then add (1) club to compensate for the trajectory.

Regarding the swing, although psychologically we may think we need to swing more or less aggressively, that is not the case. The golf swing under any conditions is still the same. Just use more or less club and, when necessary, such as in the wind, widen your stance a bit for better balance.

But the key here is if you really know the course, then all you do is make the proper club adjustments depending upon the lie and conditions and make the same smooth swing.

We so often make things far more complicated than they need to be. The golf swing itself is fairly basic. You just need to learn to make that same swing consistently time and time again.

Strategy Golf works and it can improve your game.

Enjoy golf more and start playing more strategically.

He studies the game and even goes to the driving range to practice. He’s always looking for ways to improve his game and probably plays quality courses with fellow golfers better than him.

Then there is the duffer who only plays goat tracks, has old scrufty clubs, wears shorts and tennies and uses range balls. He is only interested in joking around and getting to the 19th hole for hot dogs and beer. He plays golf about once a month, slices his drives, airmails his chip shots but is a putt putt whiz – he drops 50 footers regular and often.

If you are still reading this you are probably a serious golfer and are always looking for ways to improve your game. It seems like everyone these days is willing to share golf secrets with you through the “best” golf training system in the world – so why check out our training aids? Because you need to be collecting money from your buddies at the 19th hole instead of paying them!

Golf is a game in which we need to be able to learn to switch from enjoying our surroundings and our playing partners into a highly focused state which connects us with the shot required. Learning how to practice this key part of the mental game will help us become better players.Unless we are able to give every shot our best effort and attention, we will not get closer to playing to our potential. The thing to recognize here, is that this “relaxed concentration” is something we can learn and and improve every time we play. Eventually, it will become part of our subconscious and we won’t even realize we are doing it.The shot routine will help you do this. This is one of the integral parts of playing better golf and is one of the fundamentals of my mental game audio teaching. If you think about how you learnt to drive, there were several “checks” that you went through, every time, before you put your foot on the accelerator. After driving for a while, those “checks” became automated and now you don’t have to consciously think about doing them. This is the same way that learning the pre-shot routine will help your golf. The more we can practice it, the more we can automate it, and the closer we will get to being optimally prepared to execute every shot as best we can.The steps of a sound pre-shot routine are:1) Analyze2) Visualize3) Feel4) Commit5) ExecuteRemember, repetition of the routine is the key to making it an automated subconscious process, and you a better golfer. Try to do it as often as you can on the course. This will not only help to improve the way you approach a golf shot, but knowing that you have performed these necessary steps will improve your confidence over the ball. Then all you have to do is concentrate on making a solid strike on the back of the ball.

You usually find that you pick up the game quicker and make greater strides forward with your golf game in the beginning. This is why it is important to start correctly as any bad habits you may have were probably ingrained when taking up golf. But the good news is you can change the faults through instruction and practice and learn the correct way of doing things. Better golf is just around the corner as there is plenty of advice to be found online to get your golf questions answered. There are 7 tips to better golf provided here.1. It is imperative your alignment is correct. Not being able to hit the ball to your target is going to be a big problem if you want to improve. Aim the clubface to your target first and then align yourself keeping the knees, hips and shoulders all parallel to the target. Try to imagine a railway line with your toes touching one side of the track and the ball to target line being on the other.2. A sound strategy is to pick a target that keeps you away from trouble off the tee. Use the teeing area to your advantage by teeing up the ball on the same side as the trouble and then you can aim away from it. You will find yourself in less trouble avoiding any penalties and you will keep the ball in play more often, which in turn will help reduce your handicap.3. Maintain a steady head position throughout the golf swing. This will lead to more consistency producing better golf shots with a crisper strike. Bear in mind i said keep your head still and not DOWN. Keeping your head down has ruined many a good swing. Lift up your chin and you will produce a better shoulder turn which will allow you to keep your head still.4. Reading the green properly is a valuable asset to have. Take time to improve your green reading skills as this will improve your putting no end. As well as the natural contours of a golf green you will also find that a golf ball will generally roll away from a hill and towards a water source. So keep this in mind and adjust as necessary. Once you have decided on the amount of break don’t second guess yourself over the ball. Be confident and commit yourself to the line you have chosen.5. The grain of the green another important aspect to consider too as it will effect the roll of the ball. Shiny grass tells you that the grain is running away from you, and dull grass highlights the grain running towards you. Putts with the grain will go quicker and travel further. Those against the grain go slower and therefore less far.6. A lot of the new softspikes fitted in golf shoes get clogged up quickly with grass, so make sure you scrape this away. A good footing is very important to have in golf and this is one small tip that will help to improve that.7. Check your golf club grips as they can become worn and dirty through use. Make sure to wash them in warm soapy water with a scrubbing brush then towel dry. Do this once a week and you will be amazed how the grips feel and how much easier it will be to control the golf club as slippy, worn grips are a nightmare. Your only connection to the golf club is through your hands so it is vital your golf grips are in good condition. If they are not then get them replaced as soon as you can. These are just a few tips that will help any standard of golfer improve his game. Until next time, enjoy this great game of golf.

With all the hype surrounding the Ryder Cup just starting to build lets hope Rory can continue this fine form and start pushing for a place in the 2010 line up at the Celtic Manor.

How To Become A Better Golfer You won’t be able to attain great golf training accuracy by simply reading books. This is because the books may give you a few handy tips to improve your stance and swing, but you’ll only be able to assess your accuracy and power when you’re on the course. So what are the ways in which you can become an ace golfer, with both swing power as well as accuracy? Well, experts are of the opinion that there is no written or used formula for improving the accuracy of your golf game. In fact, this is a very subjective area where every person might find his own technique that will help him perform better in his game.
Though there are thousands of products available in the market, which claim to make you an accurate golfer. It’s so rightly said that ” the proof is in the pudding”. Similarly, it is up to you to experiment with the thousands of products and decide which one suits you the best. But on second thought, is it possible for an individual to try out all the products that the market has to offer? Not only are they going to cost you a huge sum of money, but they will also cost you a lot of time and energy.
Lets have a look at the low cost means of bringing about accuracy in golf. Physical training and muscle building is perhaps a great way of improving your golf game. Working on improving the flexibility of the body as well as toning the golf specific muscles may some times bring about a vast amount of improvement in a golfer.
In order to work on the right muscles you must obviously take the help of a professional coach who will be able to guide you better in this field and set you up on the right programs.
Golf Accuracy Training Aids You can also find golf accuracy training aids in the market that do look very promising and have certainly helped a lot of golfers to improve their games. The training kits generally have swing trainers that help you to hit straighter, powerful and more accurate shots. However, before making a considerable amount of investment in the training kits, the golfer should also know the right way to use them.
Since the key ingredient of every sport is physical flexibility, we must get into the habit of including regular exercise in our daily regime. It goes without saying that golf is one such sport where accuracy ranks high because a golfer just can’t be content with a powerful swing, but he also has to work hard on putting the balls accurately. Work both on your golf training accuracy and golf excercises to increase your power and you’ll become a better golfer!
